How team-ups work

A solo flatmate listing is right when you're looking for one room in a new household and you're happy to vibe-check with whoever's already there. A team-up is right when 2–5 of you already know you want to live together — couples, two friends after a 2-bedder, four uni mates after a whole house.

Hosts can reach out to a team-up the same way they would a solo seeker, but they get the whole group's photos, budget, and move-in preferences in one place.

• 2–5 members. Photos optional but recommended; if a member doesn't have a Roomfolio account, the team rep fills them in as a freeform profile.
• Combined weekly budget. Hosts use this to pre-filter — if your group's total covers their rent, you show up on their "Teams that fit you" page.
• Target suburbs. Pick the 1–3 areas you'd actually move to. Listings outside your suburb list won't show as a match.
• Move-in date + min stay. Hosts filter by these to skip groups whose timing doesn't line up.
• Lifestyle aggregate. If your linked members fill in pets/smoking/drinking, the team card shows an aggregate strip so hosts know who's in the household.

Click Create a team up on the team-ups page. Step 1 is the team title (e.g. "Sarah, Jamie & Liam"), then each member's name + optional age + photo, then combined budget and target suburbs. Members already on Roomfolio can be linked by email — they'll get a "you've been added to a team-up" notification and can fill in their own lifestyle from their own dashboard.

Teams stay in PENDING for moderation (usually under a day) before they appear in search results. You can edit the team any time from the dashboard; substantive edits drop the team back to PENDING.

Hosts on the team-ups page see a "Teams that fit you" filter that narrows to teams whose suburb + budget match one of their active listings. Detail pages have a sidebar panel showing which of their listings each team fits, so the host can pivot from one match to "see all teams that fit me" in one click.
